This 2019 Sig Sauer M17 Surplus is a rare offering and comes packaged in its factory box along with a certificate of authenticity among other items. The M17 is a semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9mm, striker-fired, military surplus pistol. Originally created in competition for a government contract. This firearm was delivered to the U.S. ARMY. The M17 based on the p-320 were the first to be produced to meet the standards of the Modular Handgun System and won the government contract. Due to changes from the original contract, these were returned to SIG, and then were offered to the public.
This SIG M 17 is finished in a Coyote Tan and the steel slide is finished with a PVD coating, with a polymer lower and magazines to match the finish color. Along with all Coyote tan controls, black accents can be seen on the slide. The overall condition is excellent and at a distance, no wear can be immediately noticed.
At a closer look, slight wear can be noticed in a few areas on the slide around the muzzle and dust cover. Other high points and sharp edges will see a little silvering. The wear patterns on this pistol are similar to others that were released to the public.
The factory marking MFR:6ZWb1 PN:13067008-1 is on the left side of the slide just below the SIG SAUER M17 marking. The front sight is marked with an MH3 AQ. The barrel is marked 9mm x 19 with 6ZWB1 marked underneath it.
The bore shows bright, and the rifling is strong throughout. The magazine well shows normal wear, as it is known these have all seen an unknown amount of ammunition.
The grips being a part of the lower frame, one piece and made of the finished in the same coyote tan, are stippled from the factory and frame the Sig Sauer wordmark. The grips show no noticeable blemishes. There is an M on the lower backstrap.
In addition to the factory box, a SIG sticker, one 17-round magazine, two additional 21-capacity magazines, a safety lock, a standard velocity guideline assembly (recoil spring), and a tool. All can be found in like new condition. Either unused in the original packaging or opened but unused.

08/22/2023 4:16:10 AM UTCMy understanding is the "M" on the back strap, is the sizing of the grip module. These also came in a S or L.

Seller 08/21/2023 11:42:31 PM UTC@Cove3rt - No, I had not requested one of these of this pistol. Talking with a friend I believe the process is pretty easy.

08/21/2023 11:38:39 PM UTC@BC_Ryder I have seen some of these advertised with a FOIA (Freedom of Information Act Request) letter. Do you happen to have one of these included with the sale by chance?
